Depart Nairobi in the morning accompanied by your mountain guide driving through the beautiful Kikuyu land in central Kenya and arriving Nanyuki in time for lunch. Afternoon walk to the equator for acclimatization. Dinner and overnight in a budget hotel.
After breakfast drive to Sirimon gate (2550 meters) and after a quick check- in, start the hike through the rain forest for nine (9 kms. ) to Old Moses camp (3300m ) for dinner and overnight. Approximate walking time 4hrs.
After breakfast hike through the moorland heading to Liiki Valley then down to Mackinders Valley with picnic lunch en-route arriving Shipton camp (4500m ) in the late afternoon . Dinner and overnight at the camp. Approx walking time 6/7 hrs for 14kms.
Your day of acclimatization. Hike around Shipton peaks (4500m) near the Batian base returning in good time for lunch. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Early morning departure (0300hrs) for a 3hrs walk to the summit (Point Lenana at 4985m) arriving approx 0630hrs. Enjoy the scenery with the sun rise and after taking your photos descend to Mintos Hut for full breakfast. Then further descent through the beautiful gorges and Lake Elies at a far distance. Proceed to Chogoria Banda (Mt. Kenya Lodge 2900m) for dinner and overnight. Approx walking time 12hrs.
After breakfast set on a morning walk for 15 kilometers to meet the 4wd vehicle which will take you to Chogoria where you will have your lunch, then you will get transport back to Nairobi.

Our Chief Mountain guide is Mr. James M. Kariuki-James is a graduate of the American National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) 1996-1997. Backed by a team of knowledgeable courteous and attentive staff; James is a professional who puts safety first. You wont fail to notice his organizational skills characterized by him having worked with for the air force (Armed forces) before he sacrificed the prestigious job to do what he loves most. – Outdoor Adventures.
James has done more than 300 Ascends to date on Mount Kenya summit and 25 ascends on Mount Kilimanjaro Uhuru peak. Not to mention Mount Elgon, Aberdares ranges, Mount Meru-Arusha among others.

James hobbies are mounteeering, traveling & reading. He is widely traveled in East Africa, Europe and USA courtesy of his clients where he is invited as guest speaker to give lectures on mountaineering. In USA he has trekked part of the Appalachians trail among other places.
