Tsavo National Park

Tsavo East and Tsavo West are two national parks located in the southern part of Kenya, East Africa. They are among the largest wildlife conservation areas in the world and are popular destinations for safari enthusiasts.

Tsavo East National Park is the larger of the two, covering an area of about 13,747 square kilometers. The park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, hippos, and crocodiles. Visitors can go on game drives, guided walks, and even visit the Lugard Falls and Mudanda Rock, which are popular attractions in the park.

Tsavo West National Park on the other hand, covers an area of about 9,065 square kilometers. The park is known for its scenic landscapes, which include the Mzima Springs, Shetani Lava Flows, and Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary. Visitors can also go on game drives, guided walks, and even visit the park’s historical sites, such as the Grogan Castle and the World War I site.

Both parks are located in a semi-arid region and are known for their red elephants, which are unique to the area. The best time to visit the parks is during the dry season, which runs from June to October.
