Maji Moto Eco Camp is situated in a local Maasai village in the world renowned Maasai Mara National Reserve. The camp is operated by Maasai people from the nearby village of Maji Moto, a stay here will immerse you not only in the intense natural beauty of the Loita Hills, but also in the ancient culture and knowledge of the Masai.
Maji Moto Eco Camp is nested on a hilltop in the Loita Hills overlooking vast savannah plains in the Masai Mara National Reserve. Maji Moto is a village in Loita Hills, 3 Hours drive from Nairobi and 1 hour from the Masai Mara National Reserve. Narok town is 41 Kilometers from the camp.
Accommodation and Meals
Maji Moto has 9 secluded standard size igloo types of tents equipped with mattresses, pillows and beddings with private relaxing area in front. Bathroom contains toilet, hot shower, wash hand basin and a natural hot spring bath under the stars.
All tents are positioned to create privacy and make the most of the breathtaking views. There is no generator in Maji Moto Eco Camp, candles, lanterns and camp fires light the camp in the evening. Baths can be taken in the natural hot springs, under the stars.
Fresh food supplies at Maji Moto Eco Camp are brought from Narok town with every arrival including fresh locally grown vegetables and fruits. All meals are prepared simply but delicious by a camp cook, blending traditional Kenyan and international cuisine.
The Kitchen, Dining area, Showers and Toilets at Maji Moto Eco Camp are built Masai-style using only local materials such as branches and stalks, grass, cow dung and stone. No trees were destroyed during construction. Igloo-type tents are furnished with mattresses, pillows and bedding. All tents are secluded with private relaxing spot and a view.
Firewood is collected from our 60 acre forest, and only dry, fallen wood is used. Small solar panels provide electricity for recharging cameras and mobile phones .
