Maramboi Tented Camp
Situated in the ecosystem of lake Manyara, in fields of golden vegetation, Maramboi Tented Camp brings together premium services, exclusive attentions and genuine hospitality in a spectacular scene. Maramboi offers permanent camp facilities and endless vistas of golden grasslands and palm lined desert between Tarangire and Manyara Lake. A visit to the area is essential for anyone interested in evolution and the origins of Mankind.
Maramboi Tented Camp offers stunning views of the Manyara National Park, Rift Valley, Ngorongoro highlands and on clear days even Oldonyo Lengai a sacred mountain to the Maasai.
During the wet season, the Manyara and Tarangire Pans attract huge flocks of flamingos and other birds. The corridor is also a great place to witness the migrating herds of tens of thousands of wildebeest and zebra, followed by predators.
Accommodation and Meals
Maramboi Tented Camp consists of forty large, well appointed, en-suite tents evenly spread out to create a sense of privacy. The decor is beautifully simple with wooden floors, four-poster beds and wrought iron furniture. The tents, conveniently connected to the main areas by either sand or wooden walkways, are raised off the ground to maximise the striking views of the Great Rift Valley plains. On very clear days, it is possible to see Oldonyo Lengai, a mountain revered by the Maasai. The private veranda, complete with directors’ chairs and a coffee table, is the perfect spot to savour this picture.
Dining under swaying palms with a gorgeous view is the order of the day. Of course there’s also the ever entertaining “bush television” – the campfire with its flickering flames and stories of the wild.
