Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge is centrally situated on the northern safari circuit in Tanzania. Close to Lake Manyara National Park and the gate to Ngorongoro Crater it’s the perfect stopover between the two.
Using Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge as a base for a few days you can also visit Tarangire National Park (about 1hr 30mins away) and Lake Eyasi (30mins away) as well as explore the region around Karatu where there are many hiking/walking opportunities and possibilities for cultural exchanges.
Accommodation and Meals
At Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge has 12 en-suite tent that are situated under a canopy of acacia and other indigenous trees and connected by a wooden walkway. Some tents come with an outdoor shower as well as an indoor one. Triples are possible and we also have family tents.
Each tent has a spacious veranda where you can relax and enjoy the view of the Ngorongoro Forest, listening to the sounds of birds flitting through the trees. Comfortably furnished with double or twin beds, crisp linen and warm blankets for our cool nights, you’ll find everything you need here.

Meals at Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge are continental style, prepared by talented chefs and served in the rustic yet comfortable main area that’s a combined bar, lounge and dining room.
Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge is fortunate to be in an extremely fertile area with a year round growing season. The result is a constant availability of farm fresh produce and meat, luscious tropical fruits and locally grown coffee. Food is sourced locally even the rice is grown within fifty miles from the lodge! freshly bake bread and rolls available daily. After dinner they light the campfire and occasionally a local dance group of the Irawq tribe will come to entertain.
