Morning pick up from your hotel and departure to Mkomazi National Park. Set below the verdant slopes of the spectacular Usambara and Pare Eastern Arc Mountain Ranges and overseen by iconic snow – capped peak of Kilimanjaro, Mkomazi is a virgin breathtaking beauty exhibiting unique natural treasures and immense sense of space – which adds to the fulfillment of high visitor’s enjoyment expectations – a much needed bridge between northern circuit and coastal attractions.
Arrive in time for afternoon game drive. You will drive through the Arusha Dar es Salaam high way, with good weather you will have great view of Mt Meru and Kilimanjaro on your way. Mukomazi national Park is one of the few places where you can see endangered black rhinos in Tanzania; You’ll also have the chance to see endangered wild dog as well as many other species such as giraffe, eland, hartebeest, zebra, buffalo, elephant and the long necked gerenuk. Bird spotting is excellent with more than 450 avian species recorded including endemics such as the cobalt-chested vulturine guinea-fowl and other large ground birds such as ostrich, kori bustard, secretary bird and ground hornbill. Migratory species are also present here such as the Eurasian roller.

After breakfast we will go on a full day of game viewing taking packed lunch with us to maximize our time. Most of the animals that you’ll see are endangered species, particularly the black rhino and wild dog along with several bird species. After an exciting day of wildlife viewing we’ll drive back to the camp in the evening.
The name ‘Mkomazi’is a combination of two words from the Pare ethnic language; “Mko and Mazi”. “Mko” means a traditional tiny wooden spoon used by the Pare people for eating and “Mazi” means water. This implies that water in the Park is hardly enough to fill up the wooden spoon

We’ll enjoy an early morning game drive then go back to the campsite for breakfast. After breakfast, you will visit a local village near Mkomazi National Park to learn about the culture and traditions of the local people. You will have the chance to interact with the villagers and learn about their daily life, including farming, cooking, and traditional medicine. You will also have the chance to purchase some locally made souvenirs. After the cultural tour, you will return to your lodge for lunch before departing for Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight back home
