This Safari is ideal for nature enthusiasts, couples, families and friends traveling together.
After breakfast and the safari briefing in Arusha you will depart with your professional guide to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is part of a larger ecosystem and its wildlife density changes with dry and wet seasons. The park is very well known for its large elephant herds and its epic baobab trees. Ask your guide to explain the African story about the baobab tree and why it seems like the tree is standing upside down! You will stop for a picnic-lunch and, after an intensive game drive, continue to your accommodation located either inside the national park or on its outskirts.
Continue to Lake Manyara National Park – located directly below the Rift Valley Escarpment. The park is squeezed in between the steep sloping Rift Valley Wall and the shallow, alkaline soda lake. The dry season from June to October is best for viewing large mammals such as elephants, giraffes, zebras and cats, while the wet season, from November to May, is ideal for the observation of birds. In the afternoon leave the park and drive-up the Rift Valley with a stop at the viewpoint to enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the lake below. Continue to your accommodation for overnight stay.
Get an early start and drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands on the way to Serengeti National Park, which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1981. Serengeti is Tanzania’s most famous park and well known for its wealth of wildlife. Enjoy a first game drive in the Seronera Valley during the afternoon and look for resident game such as elephants, giraffes, hippos, leopards, lions, warthogs, wildebeests and zebras. The park landscape is equally outstanding – so be prepared for a magical golden horizon of endless grass plains as soon as the sun sets! Drive to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Are you ready for your Serengeti adventure? Spend the day in the heart of Serengeti National Park and explore its richly diverse wildlife with more than 3 million animals! Get close to buffalos, elephants, giraffes, crocodiles and hippos. Try to spot cheetahs, hyenas, leopards, lions or servals. Depending on the time of year, one can witness the Great Migration, which will cross Central Serengeti and is usually joined by large herds of gazelles and zebras. But Serengeti also offers a large bird variety – with more than 500 bird species – for ornithologists! Return to your accommodation in the late afternoon.
Enjoy an early morning game drive in Serengeti National Park before making your way back to Naabi Hill Gate. While your guide takes care of the park formalities, take a walk on top of the Rocky Hill kopje and enjoy a breathtaking view over the endless Serengeti plains. Watch out as agama lizards cross your path! The dominant male lizard is one of the most colorful reptiles: its head color varying from orange to red and its body color appearing in an intense blue. Continue to the crater rim of the Ngorongoro Crater or to Karatu Town for dinner and overnight.
After an early breakfast depart (with picnic-lunch) to the western side of the crater rim and descend to the crater floor for an intense game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is an intact volcanic caldera and a natural sanctuary for wildlife. It is one of the few places where you can witness the highly endangered black rhinoceros in its natural habitat. But also expect to see prides of lions, elephants with huge tusks due to the rich volcanic soil, plain game, hippos, birds and many more. In the afternoon leave the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and drive to Karatu Town for overnight stay.
After breakfast return to Arusha with arrival in the early afternoon and drop-off in Arusha Town or at Arusha Airport (ARK) / Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your onward journey.
